What's Mickey 17 All About?
Okay, so Mickey
Barnes (Robert Pattinson) is an expendable guy. He gets sent to live on this
frozen planet called Niflheim. His job? To do the risky stuff no one else wants
to do.
Here's the
weird part: Whenever he dies, they clone him. He wakes up with his memories,
and life goes on… until things go sideways.
This time, a new
clone (Mickey 18) shows up even though Mickey 17 is still kicking which isn't
supposed to happen. Now it's a wild story with action, dark jokes, and a jab at
the corporate world. Mickey's fighting to stay alive and deal with his
replacement.
It's based on
Edward Ashton’s book Mickey7. The movie turns it all up a notch with Bong Joon
Ho’s way of telling stories. It’s sci-fi with heart, jokes, and stuff to think
about.
The cast is
great:
Robert
Pattinson as Mickey Barnes (both Mickey 17 & Mickey 18) He’s kind of a goofball, also brave, and
everything else.
- Naomi Ackie as Nasha Mickey’s tough
girlfriend.
- Steven Yeun as Timo – Important member of the
crew.
- Mark Ruffalo as Kenneth Marshall – The
hard-nosed spaceship captain.
- Toni Collette as Ylfa – The captain’s smart
and strong wife.
Pattinson is super
good playing two versions of the same dude, bringing both humor and
seriousness. And with Bong Joon Ho in charge, the acting is awesome!
